PROMIVAC Double Stage Water-ring Vacuum Pumps are of Positive Displacement Type wherein the Impeller is mounted eccentrically to the axis of the Pump Casing. Sealing water forms a ring which circulates concentrically within the axis of the casing. Process Gases drawn in through the Suction Port get trapped in the Impeller Cells, are compressed & travels to the second stage where they get compressed further and are discharged through the Exhaust port. The sealing water which forms the liquid ring is supplied at a pressure equal to the Discharge Pressure of the pump, which allows the pump to automatically make up the amount of liquid which is discharged through the Exhaust Port, therefore removing the Heat of Compression from the Pump.
Generally the Main Casing & almost all the components are made from CI except the Shaft & Impeller which is of SS-304/SS-316. However, the pumps are also offered in various combinations of resistant materials for specific applications.

The main components of the pump comprises of die casted aluminium alloy cylinder housing a reciprocating piston with rings, which is further connected to the drive shaft through a connecting rod. The cylinder head contains inlet and outlet valves. On the suction stroke of the piston, air is drawn into the cylinder from the system through the inlet manifold & inlet valves located in the cylinder head. On the upward stroke of the piston, the inlet valve closes and the discharge valve opens, permitting the air to be exhausted through the discharge manifold to atmosphere or a recovery system.
Efficient oil control is maintained with the help of direct connection between suction side of the system and the crankcase interior through a breather tube which creates pressure balance between both sides of the pistons and minimizes loss of lubricating oil through the piston rings. In addition, the crankcase vacuum tends to keep the oil dry by flashing off the condensable vapours that may have been sucked in from the system.

PROMIVAC Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps are single stage, oil lubricated vane type with inbuilt oil-circulation and anti-suckback system.
The main assembly of the pump comprises of a dynamically balanced rotor with three or four specially treated fibre vanes which is mounted in a stator. When the rotor is made to rotate with the aid of the connected electric motor, these vanes move in & out of the slots by centrifugal force & slide against the walls of the stator pushing thereby the trapped air out of the stator & prompting the atmospheric air to gush in spontaneously to fill in the empty space.
