PROMIVAC Double Stage Water-ring Vacuum Pumps are of Positive Displacement Type wherein the Impeller is mounted eccentrically to the axis of the Pump Casing. Sealing water forms a ring which circulates concentrically within the axis of the casing. Process Gases drawn in through the Suction Port get trapped in the Impeller Cells, are compressed & travels to the second stage where they get compressed further and are discharged through the Exhaust port. The sealing water which forms the liquid ring is supplied at a pressure equal to the Discharge Pressure of the pump, which allows the pump to automatically make up the amount of liquid which is discharged through the Exhaust Port, therefore removing the Heat of Compression from the Pump.

The main components of the pump comprises of die casted aluminium alloy cylinder housing a reciprocating piston with rings, which is further connected to the drive shaft through a connecting rod. The cylinder head contains inlet and outlet valves. On the suction stroke of the piston, air is drawn into the cylinder from the system through the inlet manifold & inlet valves located in the cylinder head. On the upward stroke of the piston, the inlet valve closes and the discharge valve opens, permitting the air to be exhausted through the discharge manifold to atmosphere or a recovery system.

Efficient oil control is maintained with the help of direct connection between suction side of the system and the crankcase interior through a breather tube which creates pressure balance between both sides of the pistons and minimizes loss of lubricating oil through the piston rings. In addition, the crankcase vacuum tends to keep the oil dry by flashing off the condensable vapours that may have been sucked in from the system.

PROMIVAC Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps are single stage, oil lubricated vane type with inbuilt oil-circulation and anti-suckback system. 

The main assembly of the pump comprises of a dynamically balanced rotor with three or four specially treated fibre vanes which is mounted in a stator. When the rotor is made to rotate with the aid of the connected electric motor, these vanes move in & out of the slots by centrifugal force & slide against the walls of the stator pushing thereby the trapped air out of the stator & prompting the atmospheric air to gush in spontaneously to fill in the empty space. This continuous process happening at a high speed, gives rise to an unbreakable stream of Vacuum and Pressure. ‘PROMIVAC’ Sludge Suction Pumps are specially designed and fabricated to satisfy the ever increasing demands of municipalities and contractors for their employing them for cleaning the chocked sewage lines, emptying septic tanks and disposal of the accumulated sludge from the manholes and mobile toilet units by suction. 

This powerful Suction System with added benefit of being able to pressurize the tank for fast emptying is the integral part of a Cesspool Emptier or a Honey Wagon - the large tanker lorries / trolleys specially designed to suck contaminated waste out of Cesspools, Sewage Tanks, Portable & Airplane Toilets and carry it to a suitable disposal point. 

These Vacuum - Pressure Pumps are available in various capacities and models suiting permanent fixation / supporting on a trolley or for mounting right on the chassis of the mobile tanker into which the sludge / sewage is required to be sucked. In the latter option, the pump can be made to run with the same engine, which is moving the tanker i.e. vehicle’s PTO or Split Shaft PTO. Apart from this, the pump can also be made to run with the help of an electric motor or a diesel genset. 

A float valve system is also supplied with the pump which ensures termination of the further suction when the tank becomes fully loaded preventing thereby overflowing of the sludge. In industrial models, or in vacuum pumps of higher capacities which are operated continuously for very long spells of time the oil gets heated either on account of friction or on account of heavy intake of hot mixture of gas and vapours, the performance of the pump drops. In order to keep it cool, a jacket is constructed around three sides of the pump housing, in which water is made to circulate for keeping the temperature of vacuum pump under control and retaining the performance at its best. In this model an inbuilt device, known as Gas Ballast is provided, which effectively checks to a large extent condensation of the water vapours which otherwise would not only had contaminated the oil, but had also diminished the performance of the pump.

The same can also be used as backing pump with Roots Type Vacuum Booster, Diffusion & Turbomolecular Pumps for making High Vacuum Systems.
